Empty (Australia) - Surfacing
2010, Aphotic audio, CD
(28.03.2010, ryby, )

I must confess that I have eagerly followed releasing process after first information about new material of this Australian duo, that has on their own label APHOTIC AUDIO excelled with their mini releases and with their precise work, that was usually remix versions and interesting cooperations. Today, to my own happiness, it’s a little bit different and EMPTY comes with completely new program and their 14 tracks, that are again in style that is called alternative electro and with this step they are making a strong comeback into dark electro waters, that will for sure, after this strong production, stir. Basically EMPTY continues in steps that were already written, recorded on last releases, the shift is noticeable and listener will here came across strong message in which there is no shortage of quantity alternating rhythms and melodic structures, in which flies a strong melodic vocal and his alternating positions flows often into harsh cybernetic changes, or harsh surfaces and stands strong over this electronic palette. I don’t want to closer concentrate on every song, but concept is nicely chosen and songs shifts in various faster or mid tempos. Music is melodic and combines reference of modern projects and combination of ebm or industrial that is typical with factory grease and various noises. Quantity of synthetic grease, twists, and constructive nicely equipped crossings. Each song wonderfully fits with the album concept and listener here has a chance to find a lot of strong songs that pulsates in melodic gates and very catchy vocals that rotates long after listening and turning off your player in your subconscious. A lot of songs will be for sure hot candidates for your personal hit and 100 percent of electro production and by my opinion this is very strong candidate for an album of the year in dark electro category...
