Stendeck

(09.10.2008, ryby)

When is the project STENDECK dated and how do you remember its birth?

Stendeck’s project has born in 1999, I was tired about everything I was doing at that time, so I decided to do something by myself, more electronic more personal.

Have you had any music activities or Stendeck is your first music experience?

Previously I had some bands, we played something between Goth metal and electro dark…

How would you characterize production you do? In my opinion, your music is much about feelings and emotions. Do you want to say something through your sounds?

You ‘re right, Stendeck’s music is the translation of my emotions, it’s the soundtrack of my little world, a place where I feel good and comfortable. Stendeck’s allows me to share my feelings with people.

What is the process when you create music?

Frankly ….what I do Is really spontaneous. …I spent more time to find the right sounds, the right atmosphere, but the song it comes really naturally….nothing planned!

What equipments do you use? I have noticed you have well equipped studio. Does hardware or software predominate?

I exclusively use Hardware, filters and settings works really well, they makes sound more dynamic and deep. Moreover I like to mix electronics and traditional instruments as piano or guitars

You have3 releases on your account. How would you characterize them? Can you describe each of them?

First disc was a demo (a crash into another world), but I’ve never been entirely satisfied about the final result. It was a first try, something that allowed me to understand witch musical direction I wanted to take….and then it came “can you hear my call?” this was the first stone, the basement of my musical “construction”. It was straight, and it sounded as I wanted to. Downbeat and dark. In 2006 “Faces”, the song writing is more complex, more intimate, but on the other hand more upbeat and accessible.

Is there any of your work more personal, which is closer to you?

All my albums are really personal, and it’s too difficult to mention one in particular. All my songs represents my feelings, my experience, sensation and moods……they are a kind of diary

Your music used to come out under GESKA RECORDS.. This Canadian label is perhaps past nowadays. Do you know more about it?

Marc (Geska Records boss), after 7 years of activity, decided to turn the page and do something else….he said it was a question of Karma of stuff like that!

I have noticed incoming release at TYMPANIK RECORDS. Would you tell us more about it? How did this cooperation happen?

I think, Paul has strong electro armoury...Do you any of the bands, which work in TA? Tell us something about Swiss electro scene. How does it work in your country?

Actually my third album is under production and it will come out at the beginning of January 2009. I’m really proud about the final result,… I’m really happy that I have joined Tympanik Audio. It makes some years that Paul was following my project, and it’s fantastic to work with people such enthusiastic and professional. The quality of Tympanik’s releases is
huge, and most of the bands like Displacer, Flint Glass, Autoclav1.1 were already between my favourites...The swiss electronic scene is quite interesting, and thank’s to the net, everything from everywhere is more accessible.

STENDECK is very popular name on the scene and I have read quite good reviews everywhere...

I’m really happy about how things are going, and it’s great to feel the enthusiasm of my listeners!

How do you see the universal electro scene? Do you happen to have any lodestars or projects, who have appealed on you?

Frankly I don’t have any opinion about the universal music scene, space polka or other kind of music. When I like how it sounds, no matter the style, I listen to it! Personally I’ve been influenced by bands as Gridlock, FSOL, Lycia and Japanese folk music.

You will be in Slovakia in October. Shall we expect any surprise from Stendeck live? Do you know anything about the bands from Slovakia?

I’m really happy to play in Slovakia and to share the scene with musicians such Subheim and Disharmony Except for Disharmony I don’ t know much about Slovakian music… Any surprises??? Wait and see!!!!!

What about your normal life? Are you interested in anything? The policy, sport, hobbies?? What about your job? Well, what are the Swiss ladies like?

I’ve a really normal life. I work for an independent dream distillery company, and my interests are the exploration and analysis of the human behaviour compared to the corruption of reality. ..Swiss Ladies….what about the Slovak’s women??!! eheh
